You’ve heard of the Kopernikus project Ariadne, but you’re wondering what exactly it’s all about? You’re definitely not alone. In a new short video, the Kopernikus project Ariadne shows why research into climate policy measures is so important for achieving climate neutrality.
Germany wants to completely phase out fossil fuels by 2045. However, it is not yet clear what measures and framework conditions are best suited to achieving this goal. After all, it is not just a matter of decarbonizing all sectors, such as industry, buildings, transportation, and energy. It is also crucial that political decisions with this goal in mind are supported by all stakeholders in business and society. “The energy transition is an extremely complex challenge that can only be tackled together. That’s why it’s so important at Ariadne to involve experts from different fields in the solution process, but also to give citizens a voice,” explains Evelina Graffmann, student assistant on the project Ariadne .
The new Ariadne short video shows the dimensions of the mission to achieve climate neutrality in Germany by 2045: how many people – politicians, researchers, entrepreneurs – are working toward this goal, which areas of society need to be involved, and what methods Ariadne is using to try to get as many people as possible on board. “Inspired by the Greek goddess Ariadne, who showed her lover Theseus the way out of a labyrinth with a red thread, we want to do the same and use our project work to lay the red thread through the energy transition,” says Celine Koch, communications manager at Ariadne, describing the vision of the Kopernikus project.
